Mrs. Alene Deaton

Welcome to the Lee Elementary School Library! My name is Alene Deaton and I am proud to serve as the librarian/media specialist at our school. I absolutely love working with our students, helping them discover new books, and seeing their excitement as they explore the world of reading. I wake up in the mornings excited to teach our students fun and valuable library skills and lessons. One of my favorite parts of the job is welcoming their sweet, smiling faces into the library every day!  Beyond the library, I am a proud wife to my wonderful husband, Jeremy, who is truly a “Jeremy-of-all-trades.” We have two amazing children, Cassidy and Nathan, and I love watching them grow, play sports, and become responsible young adults. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, cooking, reading, spending time with family, and always continuing to learn.  Fun fact: My husband and I are beekeepers! We have a passion for educating others about the importance of bees and their role in our environment.  I look forward to a long career fostering a love of reading and learning at Lee Elementary. I can’t wait to help   our students find books they love and inspire them on their reading journeys!

Renaissance Home Connect
Renaissance Home Connect improves the school-to-home connection by allowing parents and students to log in to a website and view the student’s reading and math practice and progress towards goals. Access to online results promotes discussion between parents and students, which motivates students and can make reading and math practice even more effective. In addition, parents can specify up to six email addresses to receive automatic updates in English or Spanish on their student’s math and reading progress.

Searching for books with a corresponding Renaissance Accelerated Reader 360® quiz is easy with Accelerated Reader Bookfinder®. Students, teachers, parents, and librarians can search in English or Spanish using criteria such as ATOS book level or a Lexile™ measure, interest level, title, author, fiction/nonfiction, subject, award-winners, state lists, CCSS Exemplars, and more.
